Coron, Palawan, is a stunning destination known for its crystal-clear waters, dramatic limestone cliffs, and vibrant underwater life. Coron Island Hopping & More!
How to Get to Coron
Getting to Coron is relatively easy, with options available from both Manila, Clark and Cebu. The most convenient way to reach Coron is by flying directly to Francisco B. Reyes Airport (Coron Airport). Flights from Manila, Clark or Cebu typically take around an hour. Once you land, a short 30-minute transfer will take you to the town center or your resort.
If you’re coming from El Nido or Puerto Princesa, you can also take a ferry, but keep in mind that these trips can take 4-6 hours, so flying is the quicker and more popular choice. In our case, we traveled from El Nido and took an Airswift direct flight, which took just 40 minutes.

When to Visit Coron
The best time to visit Coron is during the dry season, which runs from December to May. During these months, the weather is sunny and ideal for outdoor activities. However, December to February can get quite busy due to the holiday season, so if you want a more peaceful experience, visiting during the shoulder months (March to May) might be a better option.

In Coron, Palawan, several tour packages cater to different types of travelers, from those seeking relaxation on pristine beaches to thrill-seekers looking for adventure. If you want to experience the best of what Coron has to offer, here’s a look at the Super Ultimate Day Tour, which combine iconic destinations with unique experiences. We opted for a private boat tour and chose the Super and Ultimate boat tour packages, as they highlight Coron’s breathtaking lagoons, secluded beaches, and vibrant snorkeling reefs. It was the perfect way to explore the stunning natural beauty of this paradise!
Our first stop is CYC Beach in Coron is a small, beautiful, and relatively secluded beach located on Culion Island, just a short boat ride away from the main town of Coron. The name CYC stands for "Coron Youth Club," a reference to the group that helped maintain the beach in its earlier days. It’s one of the best spots for relaxation and a must-see during an island-hopping tour in Coron.

The Skeleton Wreck was our second stop, and it was truly one of the most intriguing and unique shipwrecks in the area. This wreck, which has become a favorite among divers and history enthusiasts alike, stands out for its eerie, haunting appearance. Unlike other wrecks, the Skeleton Wreck earned its name because of the way the ship looks after decades submerged in the waters of Coron Bay. What remains of the wreck is a skeletal structure, with its exposed metal frame and broken parts visible above the waterline, creating a ghostly scene that adds to its allure.

Banol Beach is famous for its soft, powdery white sand and crystal-clear turquoise waters. It’s a perfect spot for a relaxing swim or lounging on the beach, enjoying the stunning surroundings. This is my favorite stop as it offers a more peaceful and tranquil atmosphere, perfect for unwinding. It’s a great spot for those seeking solitude or a more relaxed vibe away from the crowds. The camera doesn't do it justice—it's even more beautiful when seen in person.

Twin Lagoon As the name suggests, Twin Lagoon consists of two distinct lagoons, each with its own allure. The upper lagoon is surrounded by towering limestone cliffs, while the lower lagoon is a shallow, enclosed body of water. The two lagoons are connected by a small opening through a limestone rock formation, which visitors can pass through, either by swimming or via a wooden ladder during high tide.

After an unforgettable adventure exploring the beauty of Twin Lagoon, we were ready to recharge and indulge in a delightful lunch on our boat, which was conveniently included in our island-hopping tour package. This was the perfect way to take a break, relax, and savor some local flavors while surrounded by the stunning scenery of Coron.

Kayangan Lake was our last stop. Kayangan Lake is sacred to the Tagbanua people, the indigenous group of Coron. The lake is considered a sacred site, and visitors are encouraged to treat it with respect. The lake and its surroundings hold cultural significance, and the local community actively works to preserve its beauty. To reach the lake, visitors must take a short but invigorating hike up to a viewpoint, which offers a stunning panoramic view of the lake and surrounding islands. The hike is not strenuous, making it accessible to most visitors, and the view from the top is absolutely worth the climb.
The Ultimate Tour Package in Coron takes the experience to the next level by including more exclusive and remote destinations, along with additional activities that offer a deeper dive into the natural wonders of Coron.
